When it comes to song titles, you dont get much more on-the-nose than Viles instrumental standout, Relentless Beating. The mid-album track and, indeed, the entirety of Cannibal Corpses fifth full-length release doles out extreme brutality through every jackhammered snare and buzz-saw riff. The rest of the album, meanwhile, finds then newly-instated vocalist George Corpsegrinder Fisher putting on a frighteningly fierce, all-consuming performances for hyper-violent freak-outs liked Devoured by Vermin and Perverse Suffering. An especially extreme outing among the death-metal legends iconically heavy catalogue, Vile remains an expertly vulgar affair.
