2021s Torn Arteries was a fully ripping and more-than-welcome return from the mighty Carcass. Released eight years on from their mega-impressive comeback LP, Surgical Steel, the UK death-metal factions seventh full-length was just as sharp and steely, unfolding as a series of aggressively blasted but melodically informed pieces involving operating table disasters (Under the Scalpel Blade), self-referential myth-making (Wake Up and Smell the Carcass) and one particularly disgusting Beatles pun (Eleanor Rigor Mortis).
