Countdown to Extinction by Megadeth is the bands fifth studio album, following the technical precision of Rust in Peace with a more streamlined and tightly focused approach. Recorded with producer Max Norman, it became the groups commercial breakthrough and brought Megadeth to a wider early 1990s audience. Symphony of Destruction turned Dave Mustaines political writing into one of the bands most recognizable singles, while Sweating Bullets sharpened its psychological tension into a tense, spoken-sung performance. Foreclosure of a Dream adds a slower, socially pointed edge. This edition is presented on picture disc vinyl.
