When it comes to Seventies-era proto-punk, it doesnt get much rawer than the Stooges aptly-titled third album, Raw Power. Following a brief break-up period, the Motor City miscreants hit a London, UK recording studio with David Bowie to track eight direct-but-depraved classics that alternate between off-the-rails rock recklessness (Search and Destroy) and indulgently sleazy psych (Gimme Danger). A napalm-scented Big Bang moment for punk, pressed onto two slabs of gold-colored vinyl to showcase Bowies original mix and Iggy Pops own ear-bleeding, in-the-red late Nineties remix.
