The steady rise of Iron Maiden in the early Eighties transformed the UK outfit into not only one of metals most arena-dominating forces, but a pop-cultural juggernaut. The band had become bigger than life, and nowhere in their catalogue is that more apparent than 1984s Powerslave. All-energy anthems like Two Minutes to Midnight and Aces High find the band firing on all cylinders, while the nearly 14-minute Rime of the Ancient Mariner is an epic and moody heavy metal masterpiece. A truly worship-worthy release from Maiden, remastered in 2015 and presented on classic black wax.
