Kyuss second album, Blues for the Red Sun, is the most cohesive and thoroughly enjoyable project the desert-dwelling crew of Josh Homme, John Garcia, Brant Bjork and Nick Oliveri made in their tumultuous and brief time as a unit. In fact, the fuzz-loaded riffage and dusty, drawly wails caught the ears of Metallica, who loved it enough to take Kyuss out on tour and then jock some of their sound on Load and Re-Load. Who can blame em? These songs rip.
