Debate Led Zeppelins official standing in the metal world all you want, but few riffs hit as hard and heavy in the early Seventies as the earth-rattling chunk of Jimmy Pages intro to Whole Lotta Love. The first song on the bands second eponymous LP remains a recklessly loud, orgiastic freakshow, with much of the Brown Bomber similarly kabooming through a destructive mix of rock-mutated blues licks and four-sticked drum solos. Explosive as it is essential.
