The second chapter of Metallicas experimental mid-Nineties period, ReLoad was recorded at the same time as 1996s Load, and released just 17 months after its predecessor. The album took some wilder swings with its unexpected echoes of blues and alt-rock, not to mention James Hetfields duet with UK musician Marianne Faithfull on The Memory Remains. Even so, the band tap into the spirit of the Black Album with worlds-expanding ballad The Unforgiven II, and the whole thing rockets out the gate with the nitrous-powered moto-metal classic Fuel a staple in Tallicas live set to this day.
