1985s Theatre of Pain toned down the Satanic imagery of Mtley Cres breakthrough era, yet the hard-rock foursome are still louder than hell on the follow-up to Shout at the Devil. They filled their Theatre with double-kick speed-metal (Use It or Lose It) and Sunset Strip swagger (City Boy Blues), while a cover of Brownsville Stations Smokin in the Boys Room further leaned into Mtleys smirking reputation. Still, Vince Neil pulls back the curtain with an earnest performance on their piano-heavy Home Sweet Home, one of the greatest power ballads of the Eighties. The 40th anniversary pressing of Pain has been remastered, and features updated artwork.
