Released just barely a year after solo debut Blizzard of Ozz, Diary of a Madman found Ozzy Osbourne once again at the height of his powers. The Ozzmans second turn-of-the-Eighties outing has him further escaping the shadow of Black Sabbath, the metal frontman fully reborn while howling above the neo-classical hard-rock whimsy of Flying High Again and Over the Mountain. Sadly, its the last album to showcase the wildly energetic leadwork of Randy Rhoads, whod pass away just five months after Madmans release. One of Ozzys strongest solo albums, restored and remastered from the original tapes and preserved on classic black wax.
