Their platinum-selling debut retains certain touchstones heavily hypnotic and funky alt-rock, plus Farrells enigmatic tenor. Yet Cursed Female strikes off towards a sinister new grooviness, while the windchime-filled Pets may be the prettiest song ever written about being taken over by an alien race. The Pornos debut is possessed with a fiery artistic spirt, Farrell confirming this with the records opening line: I got the devil in me.
