While its not as eclectic as Soundgarden would get in the nineties, Screaming Life/FOPP is a deep-cut dive into the early days of the grunge institution. Rain-soaked sludge-slams like Hunted Down and Nothing to Say revealed that Chris Cornells towering post-Zep vocal style was in full-power mode from the jump, while Sub Pop Rock City is an oddly prescient hard-rock goof that predicted the oncoming hysteria around the Pacific Northwest scene.
