The Motor City-made melodeath quintet were firing on all pistons, this explosive 2007 release harnessing bleakly gun-turreted guitar melodies, megaton blast work and the powerfully ghoulish screams of Trevor Strnad. Seriously ripping, though delivered with a jet-black sense of humor that referenced The Monster Squad and Castlevania (“What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse”). What a wonderful time to pick up the Black Dahlia Murders magnum opus, repressed just ahead of its 20th anniversary on blue, black and gray marbled vinyl.
