Type Os debut full-length rages with a darkened hardcore fury that speaks to bassist-vocalist Peter Steeles previous, crossover-styled project, Carnivore. Yet while theres a frantic, speedy edge to Slow, Deep and Hards first couple of songs, the rest of the records haunted house organs and gloom-plodding pace would become cornerstones of the Drab Fours sound. Type O technically got slower over time. Steeles lyrics progressively became more sensual the further he leaned into his deep, baritone croon. But no other LP of theirs is as brutish or hard as this. Available now as a 140g double LP on green-and-black marbled vinyl.
